Christmas at Our House

We have had a quiet, peaceful preparation for Christmas. The boys are on school vacation and we don’t have anywhere to go.

In fact, it was too quiet, so we invited some local and foreign friends over to our house on Monday and Tuesday evenings to share Christmas memories, read the first Christmas account in the Bible, and sing some carols together. It was a sweet time, and here are some of the teenagers who were there Tuesday night:

Last week, we had gone to Orchard Road as a family to take a Christmas photo. Orchard Road is the main shopping Street in Singapore, and it is always well decorated for Christmas. For the past few years, church choirs and bands are also located at intervals along the street, singing.

On Christmas Eve, we went to our colleagues’ house for the afternoon. Then we had a quiet evening at home watching “Home Alone” before opening our traditional one Christmas Eve present and singing some carols.

[We watched a few Christmas movies this year, and my favorite was "The Preacher's Wife" about a pastor who is so busy working hard for God, that he doesn't recognize help from God when he sees it.]
