February in Singapore

Join us Praising the Lord with us for what He’s done in January!
Jim’s great week in Beijing. Enthusiasm growing among the Chinese Christians for outreach during the 2008 Olympics, and growing connections between foreign Christians and the Chinese Church. Praise God for this great opportunity for Chinese Christians to experiment with new kinds of community service and outreach while the world is watching. Read More about it: www.servingchina.org

Jim & Kimberly had a great week at the annual Singapore Pastors’ Prayer Summit, along with 370 church leaders. A lot of good connections, and a wonderful spirit of unity and optimism for the Lord’s plans for the Singapore church and society.

We had a new CRM mentoring network launch in January, and one of the participants (a pastor) was just raving to Jim 3 weeks afterward about seeing a few breakthroughs in his life from the first two-day retreat.

Thank God for several good visits with foreign guests staying at our house in January – a marketplace ministry leader, a facilitator for mission teams in China, and a missionary to an unreached people group in China.

Tyler also celebrated his 14th birthday in style! 8 boys came for a sleepover and played all kinds of battles like “capture the flag” around the house for hours on end.

Kimberly’s neck and back continues to be pain free. Thankful to the Lord for healing and for the new supplement glucosamine – for rusty joints! Energy is back and she’s better than new! (well, almost!)

February
1 – We celebrate the arrival of the FIRST CRM Singapore ministry staff! (See announcement below). Jim is now holding weekly “staff meetings” with Andy, How Beng, Seng Chor and Shen Kong. Also, praise God that our long time prayer request for an adminstrator has been answered. Soon Hong started today! Please pray for their teamwork to grow and enable them to be of greater service to Singapore Christian leaders.

17-19 Chinese New Year is the biggest festivity of the year in Singapore. Please pray for God to bless Christians’ witness to their family members (most people here are Buddhist) and for his blessing on the church and society.

23 – We thank God for K!Mberly as she celebrates another year of life that is seeing her grow deeper and more delightful, and drawing others around her that want her winsomeness and passion for God and creativity to rub off on them! Her new classes, speaking and prayer gatherings have gone very well this year. Thank you for praying!

26 – March 3 Our CRM colleague, Keith Webb holds a five day training course in Singapore on Christian coaching. Kimberly and several CRM Singapore leaders will attend. Pray for their growth in this core area of competency for helping others grow. http://www.creativeresultsmanagement.com/

26 – March 6 Jim flies to the US to speak at Rolling Hills Covenant Church on March 3/4 to celebrate 50 years of missions! Pray for a clear mind and passionate heart and eloquent words to communicate what God wants to share with the congregation and friends.

With love from Singapore,

Jim, Kimberly, Tyler & Cameron

I am thrilled to announce that Andy Lim has joined CRM Singapore as our first full-time ministry staff. His first day was February 1st.

Andy was a founding Board Member of CRMS in 2003, and has been involved in Focusing Leaders Networks as a participant, facilitator/coach, and trainer.

He joins CRM after 22 years in pastoral and denominational leadership, and is respected in Singapore and around Asia for his character and kingdom heart as a ministry partnership facilitator. He has a particular passion for training, encouraging younger leaders, and moving the church toward innovative community outreach.

What really attracted Andy to join CRM is our apostolic ethos and vision. He is a strong team player who will be a great representative for CRM and attract other transformational leaders to join us. We are praying that by 2008 CRMS will have 3 full-time ministry staff, and that will grow to 10 in the next five years.

Please join me in praying for Andy and his wife Serene and kids Amanda and Joshua as they make this huge transition in life and ministry, and now embark on raising financial support.

Lord, we pray that Andy and his family will see your guidance and provision in wonderful ways, that you will raise up faithful partners that will provide their financial needs in the next month, and that you will continue growing them deeper in their love for you and wider in their influence for you. Please bless CRMS as they develop an apostolic team to build spiritual leaders in Asia.
