November News

Dear Friends,

As Christmas approaches, we’re not having much success at getting a Christmas photo…

but we are enjoying one another, seeing God at work in our lives and the lives of others,

and very thankful for your prayers this past month.

6-12 CRM US President Sam Metcalf was with us for CRM Singapore board meeting and meeting with potential staff & ministry partners. Thank you for your prayers! There are a few Singaporeans who are seriously considering making mentoring their full-time ministry and some serious about ministry in China.

The Half-day seminar for pastors on “Preventing Ministry Burnout” was a well attended event giving helpful advice to pastors and church workers, as well as giving CRMS more visibility among churches.

15-18 Jim trains 12-16 “Focusing Leaders Network” graduates to become facilitator-coaches of new networks in January 2007. They studied facilitation skills, coaching skills, and the concepts of character formation that make up the network curriculum.

28th Kimberly’s PERFORMING ARTS CLASS ended well and the students are all looking forward to another course next term starting in January. Videos of in class work and photos are posted on http://creativeartstca.blogspot.com

23-26 Jim and Tyler had a superb father-son trip.
Since we had missionary friends visiting from India,
we had a “thanksgiving make-up dinner” this past Thursday!

5th Jim leads a CRM Singapore board meeting as they look towards plans for 2007, including how to add staff and who is going to provide leadership while Jim is away June 2007 – July 2008. Please pray for wisdom and for the Lord to raise up the right people to join CRM staff and to give leadership to the ministry next year.

7th Jim leads a conference call for the Beijing Olympics Outreach partners in preparation for a week of meetings in January. Please pray for good relationships among the representatives of different mission agencies, for favor with the Chinese government in making their plans, and for an effective coordinating role with Chinese and Overseas Christians planning outreach during the Games in August 2008.

8th & 9th Jim and some of his mentoring network facilitators host two informational lunches for people considering joining networks next year. Please pray for increased confidence and enthusiasm for the facilitators, and for the right pastors, mission leaders, and marketplace leaders to join networks in 2007.

9th Jim preaches! He’s been taking to a few pulpits around town to share some of his convictions and passions and has been enjoying it.

14th Cameron turns 10

22nd We host a party for artists in Singapore. The Monday prayer group has continued to meet, and has decided to have an evening event. This night is an opportunity for more Christians in the Arts to gather and meet one another.

Healing for Kimberly’s chronic neck problem.
That our family will bring blessing and joy to those we spend time with this month.
Possible family vacation Dec 27 – Jan 3: we’d love to visit China, but it costs a fortune for airfare. We need direction on how to spend this holiday time.

With love from Singapore,

Jim & Kimberly
