December Prayer

December Greetings from Singapore!
Some Christmas cards have already begun to arrive! What a wonderful season of hearing the highlights from you. October and November were both full months of travel and big meetings for Jim. We’re glad to report that we’re all home for the holidays. That’s “home” as in Singapore. I’m happy to tell you that this year I find myself getting warm fuzzy holiday feelings from seeing the decorations and hearing the muzak regardless of the muggy weather. We’re all happy and healthy and enjoying a respite from a busy fall.

In October
-Jim met with Christian leaders from around the world at the Lausanne Forum in Thailand to discuss partnerships and collaboration among ministries (1st-10th).
-Our CRM Asia supervisors, Mike & Katie Crow, visited us in Singapore and met with many of our CRM Singapore participants to learn more about our ministry and relationships (11-30).
-Jim and Mike Crow led a pastors retreat (25-27).

In November
-Little Miracles, Journey to Parenthood appeared in local bookstores (see attachement) Kimberly contributed a chapter about the special way God brough Tyler and Cameron into our family (1st). There’s been great press on this book in the local news!
-Jim met with ministry leaders to plan outreach at the Beijing Olympic games in 2008 (1-2nd).
-Jim recruited missionaries for China at the annual China Challenge conference in Atlanta (3-5th).
-Jim met with Singapore businesspeople to discuss marketplace ministry opportunities in China (10th).
-Kimberly helped host a gathering of 40 Christian artists in Singapore. It was a lovely evening of worship and fellowship (11th).
-While Jim was traveling, Kimberly also continued interviews for a play, taught 3 acting classes and turned down a few offers that would have made her too busy in the coming months! One of the 5 stars also came to stay for a week with us for some needed rest and sanity.
-Beginning of a new Focusing Leaders Network for business and ministry leaders led by two of Jim’s trainees (12-13)
-Jim facilitated an annual meeting of Chinese field workers for mutual learning and collaboration in Thailand (12-19)
-Tyler got an electric guitar and, uh oh, an amplifier(15th) and was Prince Charming in the school show (19th).
-Jim led a pastor’s mentoring network meeting (25th).
-Tyler and Cameron’s last day of their school year. They start 6th and 3rd grade at the beginning of the new year (19th).
-Kimberly’s parents visited and we had an American Thanksgiving dinner (21-27th)

December:
-Kimberly helps out with the Christian International School’s Christmas Show where she’s been teaching drama to Juniors and Seniors this term. Teaching has been a good way to get to know the ethos of this good option for the boys schooling later, and was a fun evening for our family mixing with the missionary community here. (3rd)
-Jim has a followup meeting with some Christian business leaders to talk about the future of marketplace ministry in China (4th). Please pray for God to raise up those who will fund, advise and work together with Jim on new initiatives in China.
-Committee meeting to plan next year’s triennial national missions conference (7th). Please pray for wisdom as Jim arranges the China-focused workshops.
-Jim leads a Focusing Leaders Network with business and ministry leaders (10th). Please pray for those who are considering joining new networks that begin in January.

Please pray for us this month as we
-Review 2004 and set goals and plans for 2005
-Begin recruiting staff for CRM Singapore and missionaries for China. We’ll send a letter soon explaining some new developments with China!
-Enjoy family holiday together in Singapore

With our love and prayers for a happy holiday and a very blessed New Year,

Jim and Kimberly, Tyler and Cameron

do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will direct your paths.”
