1. ANSWERS to prayer in APRIL:
Jim’s trip to China, and his one-on-one mentoring meetings with Singaporean pastors energized him with expectancy for what God is doing now and what the future holds.
Kimberly was amazed at God’s goodness with the “Traveling Light” production at church. From pastors to my critical theatre friends, I’m still getting good feedback from those who saw it and were blessed. Even Tyler joined the cast in the last week (its easy to spot him in the picture at the bottom). Interested to see how prayers about the process as well as production were answered? Check out the website made by one of the cast members: http://amongst.f2o.org/travelight/archives/000066.html

2. HIGHLIGHTS for prayer in MAY
JIM’s month is full of China ministry meetings – please pray for secure environments and good rapport for these meetings to help ministry leaders grow to become more effective in their work and find ways to collaborate.
K!MBERLY will be meeting one-on-one with the “5 stars” to go through Steps to Freedom in Christ. This is a big step for the women as it is an intense session asking for a great deal of honesty from them about things Christians often like to keep secret.

3. DETAILS with May Dates:
3rd – China Advocates Network – Jim mentors a group of 10 Singaporeans who are advocating China ministry with churches and agencies here
6-13 – Kids’ mid-year exams in school. It is no wonder that Cameron’s experience last year of having diarrhea in class and vomitting on his exam paper (only to have the teacher give him a clean exam to start over) makes him a bit anxious about tests. Though Tyler continues to learn in Chinese, he has failed his first 2 test this year. Failing is not unusual, even for their ethnically Chinese classmates! He does well in his other subjects and knows that all he has to do is try on the Chinese. Continue to pray with us about plans for their future schooling.
10-11 – Lausanne Forum – Jim brings together church leaders with planners of this year’s congress on world evangelization, to talk about issues important to Asian church leaders
12 – China Peoples Network – Jim hosts 50-60 Singaporean church and agency leaders to dialogue with visiting China ministry leaders
13-15 – Beijing Olympics outreach – Jim meets with ministry leaders making plans for outreach during this showcase event in China.
17-20 – China Consultation – Jim helps facilitate this annual gathering of China ministry leaders to share resources and learn from each other
24 – CRM Singapore Executive Committee – please pray for wisdom as we talk about future development of CRM in Singapore.
28 – Head to USA during the kid’s school holiday!
30 – Visit EV Free Fullerton worship service and Encouragement Inc fellowship.

Weekly events thru the month:
4, 6, 25 – Jim’s Focusing Leaders networks – please pray for the insights gained by these leaders to be implemented in their lives and ministries
4, 11, 18, 23 The 5*’s Meet with Kimberly to continue discussing The Purpose Driven Life. Please pray especially for the evening of the 23rd, a mini-retreat to evaluate our first 1/2 year and decide our future together.

4. Dates for JUNE in USA!

4-5 Focused Living Retreat
An intense and personal two days to delve more into the Purpose Driven Life. Before you were born, and through your life experiences God has been crafting you for a unique purpose. How can you be focused in living it out?

We are eager to offer a condensed CRM-style empowering to our supporters so that they can experience some of what we do with Christian leaders in Singapore. We want to bless the friends who’ve blessed us with their support over the past 6 years (It will probably be limited to the first 40 who say “Yeah! Count me in!”). We’re picking a South Bay venue (hotel) where we can have sessions, meals, and stay overnight.

Our time will start Friday from 2PM and go through Saturday before dinner. Some may want to extend through Saturday night, to stay on in a more informal, relaxed time of catching up until Sunday morning.

Sound interesting? Want to come? Have ideas for venue? Let us know! We’ll send registration info and more details as they are firmed up!
