April Prayer

There is a lot of publicity about THE PASSION OF CHRIST movie which opened in Singapore theatres April 1st. Please pray that in seeing the film, The Holy Spirit will open eyes and hearts to passionate faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Culturally there is religious tolerance, but most people have little understanding or exposure to the Bible or the claims of Christ. 85% of Singaporeans are Buddhist, Daoist, Muslim or Hindu.

7-14th
Jim spends a week in China
An important part of Jim’s work is helping missionaries in China learn from each other and find ways to work together. Please pray for him this week as he visits with “workers” in Southwest China to prepare for a regional consulation he coordinates in the fall.

10th “Traveling Light”
Kimberly directs a 90 minute play based on the gospel of Mark for our church’s 2 Good Friday worship services (flyer attached). Pray for the final rehearsals this week, and for the impact it will have on Church members and the friends they will be bringing.

5,16,22
Jim’s Focusing Leaders network meetings (with Singaporean pastors). Other days through the month Jim meets them for personal coaching appointments. Our prayer is that these leaders would start mentoring others in their churches this year.
Re: our requests in March

Time spent with other CRM staff was encouraging, enlightening, rewarding and fun. We had many meals and great talks with Sam Metcalf, the CRM USA president, and Steve Addison, who leads CRM Australia. March brought many other CRM staff to Singapore as well, so it was a full month!

Kimberly’s group of 5 Christian women actors continues to meet, but it seems that it is not the right time to start another group with their friends.

Cameron still loves school but is not keeping up with the pace! Our boys know that a passion for learning and not test results is what is important to us, and both are bright, happy, healthy little boys. Kimberly is reading Coloring Outside the Lines, a manual for parents who want to raise verbal, creative, analytic, inquisitive, ambitious kids with gumption (when schools are counter-productive in instilling these qualitites). Please continue to pray with us for wisdom about the boys’ schooling as we begin to seriously consider a switch to one of the private American or International schools here.
