February Prayer
“See to it that you really do love each other intensely with all of your hearts.”
1 Peter 1:22
This is our family verse. It is our prayer for you, and a prayer we would cherish from all of you this year.
January:
The solar calendar tells us it’s 2004, and the Chinese lunar new year came early this year. It’s already the Year of the Monkey. And no doubt. Every day there are little (and big) monkeys swinging from the chin-up bar we’ve mounted in the door frame of the Creasman kitchen.
It’s a new year, with new and old resolutions. We’re already making good on plans to learn and grow this year.
In January, the boys started 5th and 2nd grades. Cameron continues with piano. He and Kimberly have been attending a class for the past year. At Christmas, Tyler started learning guitar. He and Jim will begin a class together this week. We have dreams that 2004 will include taking up archery and fencing (the Lord of the Rings has inspired us), but for now we’re learning some about badminton (Tyler) and ping pong (Cameron). These are safer sports offered by their school!
Praise the Lord for good pastors network meetings for Jim and Kimberly’s new group for a few women who are Christian actors. The two of us also made good connections at the annual pastors’ prayer summit last month.
The last week of January and first week of February a leader from the CRM Staff Development and Care Team has come to spend time with us. What a gift to have such care! As we share deeply from our hearts, her insights into our marriage, parenting, personal and spiritual development are tangible evidence of God’s deep love for us. We appreciate your prayers as we continue to learn more about our uniquenesses and how we best commune with God while living and serving Him among different cultures.
February:
2 Chips & Coke at 7am = Super Bowl in Singapore. Jim has his annual American Male Bonding party as a roomful of missionaries from New Jersey, North Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma, Illinois, Wisconsin and California watch the International Commentary Version, of the big game without the best part: the commercials : (
4, 11, 18, 26 Kimberly starts meeting weekly with the drama team from our church. She’ll be helping them prepare for a Good Friday worship event. Please pray that the process of learning drama, exploring the characters and dramatizing Scripture is as worshipful as the end “product” we are working on.
5, 9, 19, 21 Focusing Leaders network meetings – please pray for co-facilitators Alan, Robin, and Jimmy and the pastors, mission leaders and businessmen participating. Please pray for Lawrence and Peter as they prepare to start networks in May.
Thanks for your prayer and friendship. Blessings!
Kimberly & Jim, Tyler & Cameron
